Heart for the House is more than just the name of our current building project, which will complete our final 600-seater auditorium with raised mezzanine – it is our posture of generosity towards Jesus in all areas, and specifically what He does through the local church at Linkway.
Construction of our new auditorium and related building upgrades began on the 3rd of May 2022, and should be complete by November 2022. The current scope of work covers:
- A new auditorium capable of seating 600, including a raised mezzanine, platformed stage, technical booth and control room.
- A parents’ room with a live feed from our auditorium, along with changing room and kitchenette
- Additional toilet facilities
- Structural cladding around our entire building to maintain a cohesive aesthetic between the new auditorium and existing building
All of this work has been made possible through the generous giving of God’s people, and we are building all of this for R9mil completely debt-free.
However, the R9mil doesn’t get us final occupancy of the building so we are trusting the Lord for a further R1mil so that we can complete all the electrics (including a generator), have basic sound & lighting, carpeting, some audio treatment and initial video equipment.
Any additional money over-and-above this R1mil will be put towards the completion of the full scope of the project, which includes:
- The tarring & paving of our property for additional parking
- Fencing and gates around the perimeter
- A new visitor’s lounge built onto our existing Link Cafe
- Two outdoor kids’ play areas
- External signage
